TRAUMA THERAPIST TACOMA, WA

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, and moved to the United States in 2012 to further my education. I now live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, where I have built both my home and my practice. With over a decade of experience as a social worker, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through moments of deep pain, resilience, and transformation. My background includes work in social services, nonprofit organizations, and community behavioral health. These settings have taught me that healing does not happen in isolation and that everyone carries a story worth honoring.

My work is grounded in the belief that people are inherently relational. We are shaped by our early attachment experiences, by the families and systems we grew up in, and by the culture, identities, and communities that surround us. When those experiences include trauma, neglect, invalidation, or harm, we learn to adapt in ways that help us survive. These adaptations, while once protective, can later leave us feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected, or overwhelmed. I help clients notice these patterns with curiosity instead of shame and begin the process of gently shifting what no longer serves them.

I approach therapy with an emphasis on trauma-informed care and attachment-based practices, drawing from a range of evidence-supported modalities including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and somatic tools. I am especially passionate about supporting people who are healing from developmental and relational trauma. This includes those impacted by family of origin dynamics, boundary violations, high conflict relationships, and experiences that may have led them to question their worth.

My style is collaborative and responsive. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. Together, we will create a space where your values, needs, and strengths guide the process. Whether we are using EMDR to process stuck trauma memories, developing emotional regulation skills, exploring core beliefs, or working toward feeling safer in your body, I will support your progress at a pace that feels manageable and empowering.

Clients often describe me as warm, grounded, and real. I bring my full self into the work with compassion, curiosity, and honesty. I see our relationship as a key part of the healing process and I hold the trust you place in me with deep care. I strive to show up with cultural humility and a commitment to continued learning, honoring the unique life experiences each person brings to therapy.

Outside the therapy room, I am most at home in nature and with my loved ones. I find joy in hiking up a mountain, tending to my vegetable garden, cooking delicious meals, and getting lost in a good book. I value the quiet rhythm of time with family and the grounding connection that comes from being outdoors. These are the things that keep me centered and nourished.

I believe healing is not only possible but deeply human. It is not about erasing the past but learning how to carry it differently, with more strength, compassion, and intention. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, burned out, or unsure where to begin, you do not have to navigate it alone. Therapy can be a powerful place to reconnect with yourself, understand old wounds, and create new possibilities.

Whether you are seeking support to heal trauma, navigate life transitions, examine long standing relationship patterns, or deepen your sense of self, I am here to walk beside you with care, clarity, and respect for your process.
